LOVEBABZ:
This group of factors is tricky because no one in their right mind would answer "no" to any of them no matter how they feel.
My father the writer with the tortured Russian soul once told me that everybody who looks in the mirror sees a saint looking back.
But I'll try to take them straight.
1) I really do feel that way in the main, although it's also a place of greed and fear and violence.
2) I think that's true of me. A friend even has said it's a failing of mine that I try to see the good in all people. I'm a pacificist. But I have my limits and when the limits are breached I become a very bad person.
3) I like clear weather. Best I can do on that score.
4) I like the sea. I'm not the world's greatest swimmer but I like do go to the beach and I love salt-water fishing.
5) Whoops. I'm a workaholic.
6) Similar to 2)
7) Beauty internal and external is in the eye of the beholder and twas ever thus
I am afraid, once again, that we're destined to be good friends, not lovers because I believe I fell at a few of the hurdles on an earlier post.
*I'm 5'7", albeit normally proportioned
*I have a dark complexion, but I am a Caucasian not a brother (I mean REALLY a Caucasian in the sense that my family's Russian)
*I wear my head shaved most of the time because it's damned hot down here
On the positive side of the ledger, I have EXCELLENT oral hygiene and have been told I have an attractive face.
Suerte.
Well hello Kelso's Nuts!
I am so glad you dropped in. I do appreciate your posts---they are so thought out and interesting. Hey you have more going for you than against you in comparison to my list! Don't rule out being lovers yet! And being friends is not second best!
Hi Lovebabz,
I have nothing but admiration for your list; my mind is a scrambled mess and I still haven't gotten beyond the first item on mine:
Loyalty.
Not a full-grown list yet; merely a seed. But at least that one item is non-negotiable.
I do have a foggy picture of what things will be like one day... but I tend to think in pictures anyway.
Regarding your family's illnessness: I hope you all feel better very soon. That allergy of yours sounds unimaginably horrible.
May-Bee
Hey May-Bee,
My list is really me thinking out loud and dreaming a lot. I have to believe there is another match for me. I mean that's all there is to it.
The kids are good, back to school this morning. As for me, well this freak allergy is painful and debilitating, but life goes on and I go with it.
Just keep imagining the sort of love you would like, keep that in your heart and mind and soon your list will be complete.
Hi Lovebabz ... I'm just reading your Love Lists ... and while I'll come back and read your previous posts, I will tell you that I like the whole concept of what you are doing with this. How often we walk into relationships with nebulous expectations on our own part, let alone knowing the other party's expectations. If we are clear on what what we need and want for ourselves, and, as well, are able to prioritize, it can save us much pain from misunderstandings and the like. An excellent exercise to be sure.
Hey Anita,
My love list is running for the month of March. It is a really great excercise. It forces me to think about what it is I want and pay attention to what shows up.
Comes to me with a peaceful heart and a joyous soul.
Cares not what the world thinks of this love.
My favorites...so important that a man will so love you that it doesn't matter what others say or feel, and that peaceful heart and soul will be required.
Mizrepresent,
I know how hard Brothers have it. And because of that fact they often feel at war with the world and at war with themselves and those that love them. So a joyous heart and peaceful spirit requires internal work and the Man that understands that is the Man for me.
A love list! Wow, pretty cool. Let me catch this at the begining...
Peace and Love,
Alizé (LoversA.blogspot.com)
Hey Alize,
So nice to have you drop in. Yes do go to the beginning and do feel free to let me know if I have missed anything so far.
i fit everyone of the 50 characteristics so can i be your man please
Hey Lovebabz,
I hope things are improving healthwise for you and yours; but I can see by your list that your mind is still as sharp and clear as ever even in the midst of dealing with your illness!
The items on this part of the list particularly resonate with me. I especially love the one about caring not what the world thinks of this love. What would it feel like to love someone who makes our love his priority in the face of all that the external world might have to say about it?!
I know I will be able to answer this question for myself one day ;)
LOVEBABZ: Being friends is always BEST. It's taken me every second of 46 years to learn that friendship always must precede love. And friendship in many ways is more powerful than love is.
James Tubman, You are the best!
Sharon, absolutely you will answer this for yourself!
Kelso's Nuts, friendship is love!
