DON'T WORRY ABOUT A THING & DON'T RAIN ON MY PARADE!
These are two of my favorite songs. Bob Marley, Three Little Birds from my favorite album, Legend and Barbra Streisand, Don't Rain On My Parade from one of my all-time favorite movie's Funny Girl.
That is so odd! Yesterday, when you asked me if I could hear that song by Mary J. Blige, I was this close to saying 'yes, and I can also hear Three Little Birds!" That song has resonated in my for the past two weeks!
As of this morning I am no longer married. I'm not worrying about a thing!
OMG. Legend was my favorite album for a loooooooong time. In fact, I only stopped listening when my cassette tape self-destructed Mission Impossible style. hehe
This post makes me want to replace that album all these years later...
My two brown babies have been singing Three Little Birds since birth, or so it seems. My mom loves Barbra Streisand and growing up, I knew every song from Funny Girl. It was a bit distressing when my friends wanted me to add my voice to some Supremes, but all I knew was Barbra.
Hey Stephen Bess! Yes Bob Marley is the Greatest! And I am feeling better thank you!
Hello Mango Mama, I know what you mean. I love Barbra. I love the Supremes too, but this song really speaks to me! And my kids too heard Bob all the time, to the point that they had no idea he was dead! And when I told them, the look of shock was heart-breaking...LOL!
I am a monster Barbra fan! Funny Girl is one of my all-time favorite movies and I don't know if I love the songs or the satire of the Follies the most, but I love, love, love this movie, Barbra, and the ENTIRE SOUNDTRACK from Parade, to Sadie, Married Lady, People Who Need People...oh my, I feel a Jones coming on...I'ma havta go now...gotta modify some things on my Netflix list ;)
After reading your blog for a few months now, I finally posted this morning in response to your being served.
Came to work this morning and halfway through the day, ran into a fun "coincidence." (Are there such things? Methinks not.)
The kids were making puppets with a guest artist. Each group of kids did a brief performance, and the last group? After introducing their puppets, they sang "Don't worry about a thing!" I love this song, and yet it had been out of my mind for several months until I read your post this morning and heard the song. It definitely brought a smile to my day to hear it coming from the mouths of my students, so unexpectedly. Gotta love this world...
Trish, My life is full of those little lanterns guiding me and letting me know I am on the right path! Don't you just love those little excercises in divinity!
You are welcome to hang and post here as you like. All are welcomed and all are loved!
