TRUE LOVE TUESDAY: SPRING CLEANING

I think this blog needs a makeover. Yes a makeover. It is way too dark for how I am feeling. I am ready for some color! I mean everything in my life is about color...this blog should reflect that too!

I spent last weekend organizing my house. Cleaning up the clutter. I was listening to Peter Walsh on Oprah last week and what he said resonated with me. I began to think there is no success in clutter. If your home is cluttered your mind is cluttered. There can be no real success in the midst of clutter and mess. So I cleaned, sorted, purged. All of the public spaces are orderly. My bedroom is a sanctuary. Only thing left to do is the kid's rooms.

There is no other priority more pressing than making my home the place that I am at ease in. It is the place that replenishes my spirit. If my living space is a mess...then my life is a mess too. What is on my mind is reflected in my life. So as I am newly divorced I refused to let another day pass with a junky, messy, cluttered space. I was tired of the excuses for not cleaning and creating order. I was embarrassed to have to move things out of the way to find simple things. and then I had to think what message was I sending my kids. When shit falls apart we let everything fall apart? So Spring cleaning has commenced and I am happy when I wake up and come downstairs to a clean, orderly space.

Taking back one's life begins at home. Clearing my living space of clutter is the first step in clearing my mind of clutter. Success is invited in and has a place here. Success does not have to compete for space, nor is lost because of all the other mess.

Welcome Spring!

I have always thought this blog was too dark for you, but I guess when you started it, you were in mourning.

I did the same thing after my divorce was final. Something makes you want to clean out the old with that stroke of the pen doesn't it?

Makeover the blog while you are making over everything else. There is nothing wrong with change and evolution :)

Hello there Lovebabz!

Pyzam has some blogger templates that are free and you may want to check them out.

If you want to pay for a custom template, a guy named Seven at BlogsGoneWild will do one for about $50-$85.

If you like the black background, you can always make the page "appear" lighter by adding photos. I have a dark, dark navy background but there are so many photos that it really doesn't seem dark...well at least I hope it doesn't!! *LOL*

Peace, blessings and DUNAMIS!

i'm so glad you're spring cleaing. you are' light'. and that was confirmed when we hung out last summer.

i saw your 'lightness' even at the beginning. someone who's 'light' that was/has been going through mourning. the mourning is now done. over. finished. yes.

Can't wait to see how the blog turns out after a little spring cleaning.

I've been putting off my spring cleaning also, maybe I'll start on some things tonight.

I totally agree that one's home, one's abode, la casa should be a place that offers the ultimate sanctuary. It's important. In fact, it's necessary to make sure it brings us comfort, pleasure, peace & JOY.

As for your page, I hear that. As a writer, I guess I want my words to stand out & black accents this well. But if you're feeling refreshed & renewed like the season, it's cool to reflect that in all aspects of your life, including your blog page.

Thanks for the hug. Glad you're smellin' the music. *smile.

Have a mad chillaxin' & Blessed weekend, Sista Lo.

SJ!

One.

Hello there! I just saw your comment on an Escher Manadlas post, and I thought you might enjoy my own drawings.. I think you can make some yourself so easily- why wait anylonger? :-) All you need is just one per or pencil to make wonderful drawings in less than two hours.. :-)

The site is in Hebrew but you can view the pictures in a "presentation"- just click on the top right side- on the first option of the three.

Enjoy!
and tell me what you think.. :-)

Okay. So this is where I admit to some ish that makes me wanna run for cover...

My townhouse still has boxes in the florida room that the ex-husband and I never bothered with. Serious. I haven't truly purged the house since he left. Did I mention I bought the townhouse September 1999 and he left in NOVEMBER 2003?

That is scary to me. I am into a new relationship, yet I have clutter from a failed marriage in my home. I can't help but wonder if that leaves me with figurative "boxes" of clutter?

I'll be taking your "spring cleaning" hint and working a plan to transform my space. It is waaaaaaay overdue...
