Camping with my kids was the best fun EVER! My kids were so happy and so silly and so into it! They were not ready to go home. However I was...sleeping on the ground even with padding is not my idea of a good time. I did like being in the tent though. It rained...poured for 2 nights. It was a bit daunting in the morning but we trooped it. We fired up the griddle for waffles every morning with scrambled eggs and turkey bacon. We reserved a campsite with electricity and water. Yes with 5 kids we weren't trying to rough it....survival camping is not recreation! LOL!
By the afternoon the sun peeked out. The campground was designed with children in mind. Several playgrounds, activities and a pool! Yep, it was good time indeed! S'mores, hot dogs, burgers, snacks and bubbles were a big hit!
My Sister-friend JB and I were quite pleased with our camping efforts! Quite pleased indeed!

We used to do a big backyard camp out years ago. We would have every kid on the block over. They loved it. Maybe I should do that for my kids this summer. Hmmmm.
Glad you all had fun.
Hey Rich,
Yes I know exactly what you mean...I did that afew times with my kids and their friends. Show a movie with a projector, lots of snacks, and bug spray!
Go for it!
Sounds like great fun, besides the hard bed...but i know it was worth it to see the kids smiles.
I'm glad you all had a good time. I was wondering how the kids would do, but then again... kids are resilient. It's us adults who have a hard time, lol.
Hey Lovebabz,
Looks & sounds like you all had a wonderful time. Good for you!
I camped out once with my aunt & uncle who were part of a biker club and I had a ball. Lucky of you have to water & electric. It was the lake for bathing and wood for cooking, but I enjoyed the experience.
Hey MizR,
Sleeping on the gorund is tough! Next time will bring areobed!
Hello Bear Maiden,
Yes the kids LOVED it. They did not want to leave. I loved it too. Very empowering!
Hey Msknowitall,
Yes we decided early on that we did not want to have to do "roughing it" camping with 5 little kids.
you are better than me...camping is NOT my thing, i'm a city gal, but i'm glad y'all had a great time!
Hey TPW,
My Sister-Friend JB says that I am this interesting mix of country and New England highbrow. Nothing she has ever seen before. She is like "You are a rare breed Babz...a weird sort of mix of a great many things" She is always asking "How were you made?"
You would love it if it would give your kid the experience of being outdoors sleeping under the moon and counting the stars...that is priceless and worth any hardship you have to endure!
Sis - u DO deserve a medal! as much as i love the outdoors I'd have to invest in one of those camper cots! No direct ground sleeping for ME anymore!
the photos look great - all those smiles & yours the brightest of 'em all! LOL!
Yes Capcity...I am accepting ALL medals!
It wa s good time. I now the next fucking time I will have an aerobed. I am too hold and marshmellowy to be sleeping on the ground! The body can't do it! LOL!
Congratulations, Babz!
Yes, the ground IS hard! It gets harder every year. We're heading back out for another camping trip tomorrow. The Oregon Coast for my birthday with the wee ones!
Glad to hear all had a good time, and that it was the empowering trip it should be. I'm almost to the aerobed days, myself! In fact, we might end up at a motel at some point...
Trish,
Baby, after the second night I was hurting! I was like...shit I can't do another night on this growund...OOOW!
I think once I get the bedding siution tight, I am fine with being outdoors in a tent...I rather liked it!
It was so liberating on so many level and the fact that itwas the 4th of July was fantastic!
Have fun!
Hello there!
{waves}
I have been driving through the blogosphere, doing some drive bys!! *LOL*
I thought I'd park and say "hi"!
(smiles)
Camping is so much fun! I miss it from childhood!
I can't believe that you were sleeping on a pad instead of an air mattress!! Honey...NEXT TIME...buy a $60 queen size air mattress, get a battery operated air pump (or else fill it up at home and wrap it up VERY well with comforters before tying it to the top of the car or else it will pop)! I recommend the Coleman Raised Quickbed Airbed (sold at Target). There are some $100 and $200 airbeds but trust me, they aren't better to sleep on than the one at Target for $60!
The pictures reveal that a great time was underway!!
Peace, blessings and DUNAMIS!
Lisa
You are more than welcome to stop by my blog whenever you'd like and share as much as you'd like! The door is always open!
Hello and Welcome BWBTT.bl
Yes, I will definitely get an air mattress! God knows I cannot endure the roughness and hardness of Mother Earth!
Target here I come!
Hi, SisterCuz, great pics. Glad y'all had a great time. ooh real smores
Maybe we'll try camping in the backyard before venturing further.
